State Ratings Released by TEA for Clear Creek ISD

The Texas Education Agency (TEA) has released the 2023 A-F school accountability ratings for Clear Creek ISD. The report also includes a summary of 2022 “What If” data, which applies the methodology from the final adopted 2023 Accountability Manual to the 2021-2022 data.  

This release comes after a 19-month lawsuit between the state and more than 100 school districts after changes to the accountability rating system by TEA. This month, Texas’ 15th Court of Appeals overturned this injunction, which allows the state to release the A-F grades for public and charter schools. Ratings for 2024 are still in litigation under a separate lawsuit.   

“Clear Creek ISD remains committed to providing each student with a world-class education in a safe learning environment,” said Superintendent Dr. Karen Engle. “CCISD was recently named the second-best place to teach in Houston and a top performing school district by Educational Results Partnership, among other accolades. We will continue to strive for educational excellence within our schools while using data to guide our improvement efforts,” Engle added. 

For 2023, Clear Creek ISD increased the total number of distinctions earned from 62 in 2022 to 76 total, which is an 18% increase. A distinction designation acknowledges districts and campuses for outstanding achievement based on the outcomes of several performance indicators. CCISD’s overall accountability rating is 83 or a B for the 2022-2023 school year which is a one-point difference from the 2021-2022 school year under the new methodology and STAAR redesign. 

TEA ratings are based on how students performed from previous years as well as lag data in areas such as STAAR tests, graduation rates and College, Career, Military Readiness scores.
