Board Recognitions

Ross Elementary Leader in Me students led the pledge. 

Clear Lake High School Wind Ensemble was recognized for being named National Winners in the prestigious 2025 Mark of Excellence Awards.

Clear Brook High School marching band was honored for their UIL 6A State Marching Contest appearance. This is the fifth year in a row they have gone to State.

The Clear Creek High School boys water polo team was celebrated for winning their second consecutive UIL State Championship.

Vickie Wright from McWhirter Elementary was recognized for being named as the 2026 Texas Teacher of the Year. The Board read a special proclamation honoring her and naming Friday, November 21, as Vickie Wright Day.

The CCISD Finance Department was honored for earning two prestigious awards: the ASBO Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting for the fiscal year ending August 31, 2024 and the GFOA Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting.

A Program Spotlight was held for Clear Creek Community Church and Bay Area Church for their recent Hope Initiative and Blessing the Bay Area events. Thousands of volunteers from each church came together to beautify campuses across CCISD with the help of Maintenance and Operations.

Items of Interest

A public hearing was held to review CCISD’s State Financial Accountability Rating.

Superintendent Dr. Engle provided a district update on CCISD being named a Top Workplace in Houston, Children at Risk Rankings, CCISD Cares, and Macy's Thanksgiving Parade Participation.

The Consent Agenda was approved.

Three secondary courses were approved for next school year.

A Vote Allocation and Resolution for the Galveston Central Appraisal District Board of Directors was made.

A Vote Allocation and Resolution for the Harris Central Appraisal District Board of Directors was made.
