Interim School Liaison Division Commander Named

Captain Pete Sifuentes was recently named the Interim School Liaison Division Commander after Captain Josette Rivas announced her retirement in July 2022.

He has spent his entire 32-year career with the Galveston County Sherriff’s Office where he also previously served 19 years in Clear Creek ISD through May 2016. For the last six years he has been the Division Commander of the Criminal Warrants and Civil Division. Among his long list of professional accomplishments, he has received his Master Peace Officer Certification, Master Jailers Certification and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy and FBI Command College. For the next several months, Captain Sifuentes will lead the 45 sheriff liaison officers assigned to CCISD campuses during the hiring process for a new Division Commander.

"CCISD has taken the lead in so many aspects of school safety," said Sifuentes. "Officers are allowed to train and seek out education that is going to better serve them as campus officers. Notably, the district has implemented additional security measures to ensure safety of students and personnel through a comprehensive school safety program."

He has been married to his high school sweetheart for 38 years and has three children who are Clear Creek High School graduates.
