Clear Horizons Recognized as a Top High School in Houston

Clear Horizons Early College and Pathways in Technology (P-TECH) High School in Clear Creek ISD has earned a spot among the Greater Houston region’s top-performing schools in the 2024-2025 Houston School Rankings released by Children at Risk.

The school was ranked ninth out of the top 10 Houston high schools. The announcement was made on November 10 at a press conference which celebrated the top schools excelling in student achievement, growth and college readiness.

“Being recognized by Children at Risk is a reflection of our staff’s commitment to excellence and the incredible achievements of our students,” said Principal April Tidwell. “It is a privilege to celebrate the work we do to ensure every child has the opportunity to succeed. We are grateful to our community and to partners like the Clear Creek Education Foundation, whose generous support empowers our staff and students to excel.”

Clear Horizons is a school of choice located on the campus of San Jacinto College South, that allows students least likely to attend college or who wish to accelerate completion of high school, to combine high school courses and college-level courses while participating in rigorous and accelerated instruction. In Fall 2025, Clear Horizons added the Pathways in Technology (P-TECH) Program in Healthcare.

The 2024-2025 statewide analysis ranks over 7,000 public schools across the state and highlights student achievement on STAAR tests, campus performance compared to similar schools, year-over-year student growth, and at the high school level, college readiness through graduation and participation in college-prep activities.
