Clear Creek ISD Students Advance to State Visual Arts Competition

Clear Creek ISD is celebrating 30 high school art students who have advanced to the State Visual Art Scholastic Event (V.A.S.E.). This achievement reflects exceptional creativity, technical skill and thoughtful artistic expression.

V.A.S.E. is a statewide juried art competition that challenges students to create original works of art and explain their artistic intent through a formal interview process. Entries are evaluated based on both artistic quality and the student’s ability to articulate the creative process behind it.

During the 2026 V.A.S.E. season, 32,456 artworks were judged at the regional level across Texas. Of those, only 2,154 qualified for advancement to the state competition.

“Having 30 students advancing to the state level is an extraordinary accomplishment that highlights the strength of our visual arts programs and the dedication of our students and teachers,” said Director of Visual and Performing Arts Greg Goodman.

For more than 30 years, the Texas Art Education Association has sponsored this event, which celebrates the artistic talent and dedication of Texas art students, teachers and administrators. Student artists who receive an Exemplary rating at state will be awarded a state medallion and named an All-State Artist by the Texas Art Education Association and V.A.S.E. Their artwork will also be considered for the highest honor, the Gold Seal Award.
