CCISD Students Compete in 2021 Pasadena Rodeo

Clear Creek ISD high school students competed in the 71st Annual Pasadena Livestock Show and Rodeo. Out of 18 students, 10 received top honors and were named as Reserve Champions or Grand Champions for their livestock or ag mechanic projects.

“These students committed to raising animals throughout the summer, mostly forgoing summer vacations to tend to their daily chores of livestock showing,” said CCISD Career and Technical Education Program Manager JT Buford. “The students who show at Pasadena usually have committed to showing year-round.”

The Reserve and Grand Champions brought in $21,000 for their projects. A combined total of $55,000 was raised for all 18 CCISD entries. This was the first in-person event of the semester.

“The in-person experience is most effective for the auction that our students were fortunate to participate in,” said Buford. “Seeing the comradery of students and the buyer excitement over the hard work and success of each entry helps fuel students to compete in future livestock and ag mechanics competitions.”

The 40th Annual Clear Creek ISD Livestock Show and Auction will be held on January 18-20, 2022.
