CCISD Robotics Teams Win Big at Space City Signature Events

Clear Creek ISD recently welcomed the world of VEX Robotics to the Space City V5RC Signature Events, hosting an international field of 140 middle school and high school teams from across the U.S. and Canada at the Robotics Event Center. Teams competed for cash prizes from EATON and six coveted berths to the 2026 VEX Robotics World Championships.

CCISD students delivered standout performances across the event:

  • League City Intermediate's 7481A, the Penguinauts, won the Middle School Excellence Award, the highest award in the VEX Robotics Competition and secured their spot at the world championships!
  • League City Intermediate's 7481F, Surge, won the Middle School Design Award
  • League City Intermediate's 7481E, Eclipse, won the Middle School Sportsmanship Award
  • CCISD's 4118D, Sharkbyte, won the High School Design Award. This was the second Signature Event Design Award this season for Sharkbyte, as they won the same award at the University of North Dakota Signature Event at the Mall of America back in August.

Fewer than 30 event around the world each season are selected as Signature Events. These events provide an elevated experience and challenge the best of the best teams from around the world. Award winners at Signature Events are often among the top contenders at the end of season VEX Robotics World Championships.
