2024 CCISD Substitutes of the Year Announced

The Clear Creek Independent School District is pleased to announce the 2024 Substitute Employees of the Year.

Audrey Soto from Hyde Elementary, Deborah Weaver-Lind from Westbrook Intermediate and Cara Sue Ellis from Clear Lake High School were celebrated by students and staff members for this surprise announcement.

“We are so grateful for the work of our wonderful substitutes in Clear Creek ISD,” said CCISD Substitute Coordinator Verna Henry. “These vital staff members ensure that our schools run on a regular schedule while supporting students with high-quality instruction."

Soto was a fifth grade teacher at Hyde since the school opened in 1995 and taught for 23 years before retiring. She now is a dedicated substitute for the school and was nominated for going above and beyond her substitute duties for the school.

Weaver-Lind is a former educator and forensic chemist who has been subbing in CCISD since 2018. She was nominated by Westbrook Intermediate for her compassion and kindness she shows to all students.

Ellis graduated from Clear Lake High School and retired as a teacher there in 2016. She was nominated by the school for always looking for ways she can contribute beyond the classroom and for always making her students feel valued.
