Unofficial Clear Creek ISD Board Election Results

Unofficial Clear Creek ISD Board Election Results

The election totals for the Clear Creek Independent School District Board of Trustee Election are not complete. The results will not be official until the Canvass of the Election which will be held on Wednesday, May 18, 2022, as authorized under the Texas Election Code.

The results posted on the CCISD website are unofficial. These votes include Early Voting, Election Day, and Absentee Ballots which met the new legal requirements under Senate Bill 1. This is the first CCISD election to be held under the new requirements for absentee voting. Due to the new requirements, 338 of the 2,367 of absentee ballots were rejected for one or more of the following reasons:

  • The signature on the carrier envelope did not match the signature on the Application for Ballot by Mail

  • The carrier envelope was not signed

  • The carrier envelope did not contain the legally required identification number of the voter

The Early Voting Ballot Board will convene on May 10, 2022, at 4:30 p.m. to notify voters with a defect in their early voting ballots voted by mail that they may come to the early voting clerk’s office in the CCISD Education Support Center before 4:30 p.m. on Friday, May 13, 2022, to correct any defects in their early voting ballots voted by mail.

There are 123 absentee ballots that are pending verification through either Harris County or Galveston County. Additionally, 42 absentee ballots did not have a corresponding application on file with the CCISD Election Office. The CCISD Election Office will verify that these ballots have accompanying applications on file with the respective county.  If the application is on file, those ballots will be counted. Any absentee ballots received through today, May 9, 2022, that are postmarked before 7:00pm Saturday, May 7, 2022, will also be counted assuming the paperwork meets state requirements.

The CCISD School Board will not consider the official election results until May 18, 2022, allowing the Election Clerk and the Absentee/Mail Ballot Board to complete the work.
