Clear Creek ISD Launches CCISD YOUniversity

The Clear Creek ISD launched CCISD YOUniversity, an online learning platform for parents, staff, volunteers and community members to expand their knowledge of all things CCISD.

CCISD believes an engaged and informed community strengthens the support students receive in the classroom. Courses offered through CCISD YOUniversity offer adult-learning opportunities in areas of interest, such as child behavior, college and career planning, school funding, and school safety.

CCISD YOUniversity is an open, online platform, where users access free courses by creating a username and password. Courses are self-paced, on-demand and mobile-optimized to allow users to engage whenever convenient for them. Presentations are delivered through video instruction taught by CCISD subject matter experts and supported by supplemental content and downloads.

“We created Parent Academy courses to help guide parents as they navigate big feelings and emotions at home,” said Chief Communications Officer Elaina Polsen. “Members of the CCISD Behavior Strategies Team offer high-quality video instruction with supporting resources to help parents with topics like understanding a child’s brain states, how to handle power struggles, how to prepare your child for Pre-K and Kindergarten, and more. We’re excited to see the Parent Academy offering through CCISD YOUniversity grow.”

More than 5,500 staff, volunteers and community members have completed the CCISD School Safety Training course in CCISD YOUniversity. The in-depth course provides information on the Standard Response Protocol used on campuses, and shares resources and information about behavioral health and safety. The course and information presented in it strengthen the district’s commitment to safety and awareness of what to do in an emergency. 

The District plans to expand the course selection to continue to offer informative and instructional courses for parents, staff and community members. Users are encouraged to check in frequently to view the course catalog.
