Groundbreaking Ceremony Held for League City Elementary Rebuild

Groundbreaking Ceremony Held for League City Elementary Rebuild

The groundbreaking ceremony for the League City Elementary rebuild project was held on May 30, 2018. Clear Creek ISD recently revised its phasing plans for the school which allows students to get into the new building sooner than originally expected.

Students Jamal Jones and Lily Berger emceed the program and spoke of their hopes and excitement for their new campus. The 5th grade Ukelele Group also performed as District leaders, city officials, business partners and parents celebrated the progress being made.

League City staff and students were moved to a temporary site in January 2018 so the demolition and construction of the new building could begin. Based on the updated plan, the new League City Elementary will be open in August 2019.

The CCISD Board of Trustees approved the VLK Architect’s design of the $46.9 million League City Elementary in October. The design is based off the recent McWhirter Elementary school rebuild project.
