Florence Campbell Elementary Plans Approved

Florence Campbell Elementary Plans Approved

The public is getting its first glimpse at the Clear Creek Independent School District’s 27th elementary school, Florence Campbell Elementary. The school will be constructed on donated land from the Travis Campbell Family along League City Parkway. The design is a follow-on to the same one used to rebuild McWhirter Elementary and the planned League City Elementary rebuild.

The Clear Creek ISD Board of Trustees approved the design during the October school board meeting with the highly anticipated construction schedule to begin in April 2018.

Some of the features of this 1,000-student capacity elementary school include a dedicated building for the Galveston-Brazoria Cooperative for the Hearing Impaired, designated collaborative and creative spaces for each grade level, and an expanded stacking lane for vehicles in an effort to move cars off the main thoroughfares.

The $43.0 million school was approved by voters as part of the 2017 CCISD Bond program. The project, led by VLK architects, is expected to be open for learning in August 2019.
