CCISD Athletes Celebrated for College Scholarship Commitments

A total of 118 student athletes were celebrated during the 13^th Annual Scholarship Luncheon on April 29 for committing to play at the next level after graduation.

Sponsored by Houston Methodist Clear Lake Hospital, students across the five comprehensive high schools will be continuing their athletic journeys in 14 different sports next year, ranging from wrestling to football.

“Having this many students recognized is truly exceptional, and it represents one of the largest classes we have celebrated to date,” said CCISD Athletic Director Kirby Killingsworth. “Each of you has earned this moment through your work ethic, discipline and competitive spirit. Continue to build on those qualities as you grow as athletes, leaders and productive citizens,” she added.

Cameron Reffells, a Clear Springs High School alumnus, served as the event’s guest speaker. He is now in his first year coaching football and wrestling at Clear Springs after playing and coaching collegiate football at the University of Texas at San Antonio.
