Clear Creek ISD’s Camia Lowman a Top Five Finalist for Region 4's 2027 Teacher of the Year

Clear Creek ISD educator Camia Lowman has been named one of five finalists for the Region 4 2027 Secondary Teacher of the Year, recognizing her exceptional commitment to student learning, innovation, and educational excellence.

A proud graduate of Clear Creek High School, Lowman has dedicated more than a decade to serving students in Clear Creek ISD. She teaches anatomy and physiology at Clear Springs High School, where she inspires students to explore careers in science, medicine and engineering through engaging, hands-on learning experiences.

Lowman serves as sponsor of Clear Springs High School's NASA HUNCH Biomedical Engineering program, providing students with the opportunity to collaborate with NASA professionals while solving authentic engineering challenges. The nationally recognized program allows students to develop technical skills and innovative solutions that have real-world applications.

Beyond the classroom, Lowman is an assistant golf coach, leads the Science UIL Academic Team and actively supports numerous campus initiatives, reflecting her commitment to helping students succeed academically, competitively and personally.

"Camia represents the very best of Clear Creek ISD," said Dr. Karen Engle, Superintendent of Schools. "Her passion for science education, commitment to creating authentic learning experiences and unwavering dedication to her students exemplify the excellence we strive for across our district. We are incredibly proud to see her recognized as one of the top secondary educators in Region 4."

The Region 4 Teacher of the Year program recognizes outstanding educators who demonstrate instructional excellence, student achievement and leadership within their schools and communities. Winners of the 2027 Region 4 Elementary and Secondary Teacher of the Year awards will be announced during the Region 4 Teacher of the Year Luncheon on Aug. 6. The elementary and secondary winners will advance to represent Region 4 in the Texas Teacher of the Year program, where they will compete for the statewide honor.
