Four CCISD Elementary Students Named 2026 National Math Stars

Four Clear Creek ISD third-grade elementary students have been selected as 2026 National Math Stars, earning a place in a highly selective program designed to identify and support young students with extraordinary mathematical ability.

Lillian Feng of Walter Hall Elementary, Giovanni Scott of Ed White Elementary, Hannah Barkhausen of Campbell Elementary, and Brendan Snell of Bay Elementary were selected as Pathfinder Stars from a pool of nearly 9,000 applicants from across the country.

National Math Stars, a nonprofit organization founded in 2023, identifies young students who demonstrate approximately 1-in-1,000 mathematical talent and provides long-term opportunities to help them develop their abilities. The organization looks beyond strong classroom performance to identify students who demonstrate exceptional mathematical aptitude, problem-solving ability, and an interest in stretching their skills further.

As Pathfinder Stars, the four CCISD students will receive support throughout their educational journeys for the next 10 years, through the end of high school. The program connects students and their families with advanced math coursework and individualized learning recommendations designed to keep students challenged as their skills develop.

Pathfinder Stars also have access to STEM opportunity advising, tutoring support, enrichment experiences, and a nationwide community of other mathematically talented students and their families. Need-based financial assistance is available to help families offset the cost of advanced STEM courses, materials, summer camps, and related enrichment opportunities.

The four CCISD students join the 2026 cohort of National Math Stars and will have opportunities throughout the coming decade to continue challenging themselves, exploring STEM fields, and developing their exceptional mathematical talents.
