Simonds went to Baylor University for her bachelor’s degree and Lamar University for her master’s degree. Since then, she has spent her entire career in Clear Creek ISD. Her previous titles include science teacher, athletic coach, technology integration specialist, science instructional coach and, most recently, assistant principal of League City Intermediate.

She feels that Clear Creek ISD stands out from other districts by putting an intentional focus on doing what is best for students and helping them reach their potential, and she loves having the opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of the people she interacts with from day to day.

“We hold the power to help students to reach farther than they ever thought possible and ignite their passions,” Simonds said. “The idea is that we have the opportunity to make an impact on each and every person that we come in contact with every day. We can and do make a difference!”

Her favorite quote, most often attributed to Dr. Seuss, reflects this sentiment:

“To the world you may be one person, but to one person you are the world.”

Simonds and her husband both graduated from CCISD, and their two children, a boy and girl, are currently students in the district.
