Walter Hall Elementary to Become Second CCISD E-STEM Magnet School
Posted on 02/14/2019
HallIn the fall of 2019, Clear Creek ISD’s new E-STEM Magnet program will launch at Walter Hall Elementary School. The program, which was established at Ed White E-STEM Magnet School in 2014, has a vision to prepare and inspire generations of life-long learners to meet the challenges of a global society through critical thinking in the areas of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).

Students in E-STEM schools participate in a highly enriched curriculum that focuses on STEM subjects. They are provided with early opportunities to explore and develop their interests and solve real-world problems. E-STEM schools have an increased focus on engineering through basic design application and technology that is infused throughout the entire curriculum.

During the 2019-2020 school year, E-STEM education will be implemented in kindergarten and first grade for students who attend Hall Elementary as their home school. In addition, the school district has approved the addition of extra spaces in kindergarten and first grade for students who are outside the attendance zone. The students for these spaces will be chosen through a lottery system. Hall Elementary students in grades 2-5 will also begin to explore adding STEM activities. Incoming second through fifth grade students may transfer into the program in the upper grades through a first-come, first-served transfer request as space allows.

The E-STEM program is implemented in every grade level for students who attend Ed White Elementary as their home school. Like Hall Elementary, there are extra spaces in kindergarten for students who are in CCISD, but outside the Ed White attendance zone. These spaces will be also chosen through a lottery system. Incoming first through fifth grade students may transfer into the Ed White program through a first-come, first-served transfer request as space allows.

Parent information meetings are scheduled at Walter Hall E-STEM Magnet School (5931 Meadowside, League City, TX) at 6 p.m. on the following dates:
• Monday, March 4, 2019
