Board Recognitions

Students representing the Junior Honor Society at Clear Creek Intermediate led the meeting for the Pledge of Allegiance.

Falcon Pass Elementary Principal Monica Giuffre was recognized as a Hero in the Hallway for leading her school through a successful pilot program of The Leader In Me. Last month, Falcon Pass was named a “Lighthouse School” in recognition for implementing the seven habits with fidelity for the past three years.

CCISD recognized thirty-six CCISD high school musicians representing band, choir and orchestra for earning the honor to participate in the Texas Music Education Association All-State Ensembles.

Thirty-two CCISD students who qualified to compete at the state level of the Science and Engineering Fair were recognized. Seven of those students placed at the top of their respective categories and four are advancing to the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair in May.

For once again earning the Texas Association of School Business Officials Award of Merit, the CCISD school board recognized the Purchasing department.

Director of Guidance and Counseling, Natalie Uranga, presented the latest information and data relating to CCISD Student Support and Guidance efforts.

Items of Interest

The Board approved professional contract renewals as well as a contract renewal for an employee assigned to an Administrative position.

Cheryl Andrews was named Behavior Response Specialist.

Gabriella Chapa-Herrera was named Coordinator of Student Behavior Support.

The following Assistant Principals were named: Fernando Ruiz, Brookwood Elementary; Paulina Rodriguez, McWhirter Elementary; Sam Suhler, Hyde Elementary; Alyssa Markowski, Armand Bayou Elementary; Kim Fernandez, Bauerschlag Elementary; Chenier Bibb, Campbell Elementary.

The Consent Agenda was approved.

Executive Director of Human Resources Dr. Casey O’Pry presented a request for additional units for growth in the 2019-20120 budget, which the board subsequently approved.
