For the first time in twenty years of CCISD B.E.S.T. robotics history, all three district teams made it to the State Semi-finals at the Texas BEST & UIL State Robotics Championship. The event was held at The Univeristy of Texas-Dallas Dr. Pepper Arena in Frisco earlier this month.

Clear Brook High School, League City Intermediate and Westbrook Intermediate all competed and concluded their season with Regional tournament wins and State awards. Clear Brook's "Jigsaw" placed 4th in State and earned 1st place for creative design. "Wired" from Westbrook earned 2nd place for Most Robust Robot, 2nd place for creative design, and 2nd place for web page design. The "Robocats" from League City Intermediate were the 4th seed for the Finals.

The Texas BEST Championship is not only about the robot competition. It requires a project engineering notebook documenting the engineering process and design (including CAD drawings), a marketing presentation and exhibit, and the team’s enthusiasm and sportsmanship during events.
