CCISD Interfaith Collaborative
Clear Creek ISD is encircled by a caring and diverse faith-based community that supports the students, staff and families of the Clear Creek Independent School District.
Through the CCISD Interfaith Collaborative, leaders of local faith-based entities, as well as secular non-profit organizations that support student success, work collaboratively to help meet the needs of children.
One of the goals of the Interfaith Collaborative is to ensure every CCISD school has at least one anchor faith-based partner to help address needs and seize opportunities whenever possible.
Representatives of the Interfaith Collaborative partners meet periodically to receive District updates and share partnership best practices and successes they have experienced with their matched school.
Example Initiatives of the Interfaith Collaborative
Mentoring & Volunteering
As models of good citizenship, faith-based partners support schools through mentoring and volunteering AND providing opportunities for students to also give back to their community.
Caring for Our Students
Members of the Interfaith Collaborative provide Counselor Care Bins to their matched school. Each bin is filled with snacks and waters for students who are visiting with the counselor, are hungry or in crisis.
Feeding Our Families
From church food pantries and Backpack Buddies programs to the provision of holiday meals for families, members of the Interfaith Collaborative are leading the battle against food insecurity any child may experience.
NEW: CarePortal
A technology platform connecting the CCISD Interfaith Collaborative and area community champions with families in crisis.
Clear Creek ISD recently adopted CarePortal as a means to connect our growing network of caring people, and their resources, with the most basic needs of vulnerable children in Clear Creek ISD. Basic needs such as food to eat and a bed to sleep on can stand in the way of a child coming to school and growing academically. CarePortal provides a means of addressing those barriers, as a community.
How It Works:
Step 1: A child or family in need requires help from a child-serving professional
Step 2: The child-serving professional, or in CCISD, a Social Work Service Specialist, vets and enters the most urgent needs into CarePortal
Step 3: CarePortal alerts nearby churches and community members to the needs
Step 4: Churches and community members partner to ensure that the child and family are helped
