Safely Reopen CCISD Committee

Safety Protocol

The Safely Reopen CCISD Committee is an advisory committee to the CCISD Board of Trustees. The Committee is comprised of medical professionals, county and local authorities, faith leaders, parents, students and CCISD staff. The Safely Reopen CCISD Committee was instrumental in developing a set of recommendations which allowed Clear Creek ISD to resume in person learning for the 2020-2021 school year.

The Committee will reconvene to assess the school district’s progress in mitigating the spread of COVID-19, the community spread of COVID-19, and ultimately make a recommendation to the CCISD Board of Trustees and the Superintendent of Schools as to whether CCISD should retain, remove, revise, or phase out certain protocols the committee first recommended.

Committee Charges:

  1. Advise the CCISD Board of Trustees as to whether CCISD should retain, remove, revise or phase out face covering practices for the remainder of the 2020-2021 school year in light of Governor Greg Abbott’s Executive Order (GA-34) which lifts the statewide mandate, and the updated Texas Education Agency’s requirement of face coverings unless otherwise approved by the local school board.
  2. Consider whether to further revise quarantine practices while adhering to TEA requirements for the quarantining of close contacts.
  3. Provide general aspirations related to the summer.

Committee Guidelines:

  1. Adhere to state and federal health requirements.
  2. Gather public feedback throughout the recommendation development process.
  3. Consider the physical and emotional health of all students and staff in all areas of operations, including transportation, child nutrition, and extracurricular programs.
  4. Consider funding impact of Hold Harmless requirements.

All committee meetings will be held virtually through Microsoft Teams. Minutes will be available for the public following each meeting.
