Automotive Technology
The Automotive Technology Program offers students an opportunity to prepare for a career in the automotive industry.
Students in the Automotive Technology I course begin by exploring automotive technician careers, technical skills, safety, and experience hands-on training in computer diagnostic programs, automotive tools and equipment. Moving into the Automotive Technology II course, students will receive in-depth instruction in electrical/electronic systems, suspension/ steering, brakes and engine performance.
Students will take the Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification exams in up to 10 areas. Students taking Practicum in Transportation Systems will participate in either a paid or unpaid internship in an automotive repair facility where they will shadow a lead mentor and learn alongside industry professionals. These students will also attend automotive classes at Clear Springs High School.

CCISD's Automotive Technology is held at Clear Springs High School but is open to all qualified students in the district.
