ELL

It is the goal of the Clear Creek ELL PROGRAM to develop fluent English speakers of other languages (ESOL) by providing academic, social and cultural support for the ELL learner, using the Sheltered Instructional Observation Protocol model. Our program is designed to transition the beginning ESOL student with limited English fluency to an advanced level of speaking, reading and writing within the developmental time frame suggested by the Texas Education Agency.

The Title III English Language Learners (ELL) Program, funded under the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001, provides supplemental and support services to students who speak languages other than English. We are committed to providing a challenging, educational opportunity for all students. We will equip the ELL learner to excel in the classroom as well as the community. The program provides intensive instruction in listening, speaking, reading, writing, and comprehending English using cultural experiences as a platform for instruction. The program incorporates language arts, mathematics, science and social studies using strategies and methodologies appropriate for second language acquisition.
