All GBCHI services are based upon student needs as determined through current assessment and by decision of the ARD committee.
Site Classes – Direct services are provided for students who need smaller classes, intensive remedial instruction and support services on a daily basis.
Itinerant Services – Itinerant teachers are provided to students on their home campus who need less than three hours of direct services weekly by a teacher of the deaf. Teachers concentrate on the development of language, communication skills and self-concept.
Parent-Infant Services - Services are provided to infants from birth to three years of age. The focus is on early and intensive auditory stimulation to facilitate the growth of auditory, language and speech skills along normal developmental lines.
Audiological Services – These include audiological testing, routine hearing aid maintenance, earmold impressions and fitting, provision of assistive listening devices and PACT referrals.
Speech Therapy Services – Services include direct one to one and group therapy, assessment of student needs and developing of home and school speech goals.
Interpreting Services – Services include interpreting for student classes as determined by the ARD committee. Interpreting is also available for students when participating in after school activities including, but not limited to: football, cheerleading, soccer, band, etc.
Counseling Services – Services include counseling in one to one and in group settings, assisting in developing behavior plans for the classroom and the home, and other related counseling services.
