The Galveston County Sheriff's Office has bee a part of the CCISD team since
1983.
Currently three full time liaison officers are assigned to CBHS.
The school liaison office illustrates the best known methods and practices
of the police role with a highly diversified, multi-cultural, multi-ethnic
community.
Technological changes in society and internally within the law enforcement
profession must be counterbalanced by genuine concern for people, regardless
of economic level, creed, sexual preference, gender or other individual characteristics.
Therefore, having recognized these changes, we view people as our most important
resource.
To emphasize this, we use a proactive police approach to law enforcement;
looking forward, not back, and anticipating the future. We find ourselves
constantly interacting with the community and helping create a positive and
safe learning environment.
Office is that people are our most important resource. The mission
of providing quality service to the community guides the actions of the office.
We view safety and security as a partnership that requires the active
participation and cooperation of those who are served as well as to who provides
the service. We maintain a balance between offering a safe quality educational
environment, and maintaining a law enforcement presence.

The Galveston County Sheriff's Office School Liaison Division takes the lead in providing a safe environment for the school community by protecting life and property. The office has a duty to law enforcement, but we strive first and foremost for the safety and security of students and staff on campus.
Without an environment that promotes such a strategy, a well developed learning process cannot proceed or allow students and faculty to perform at their maximum potential.
The School Liaison office is also responsible for investigating all crimes that occur on campus. To ensure the security of the campus, it is important that members of the community report all crimes and emergencies, including personal injuries, to the Liaison Officer on campus. If requested by the complainant, the School Liaison Office will either file charges with the district attorney or describe the options for handling the matter.
