The Clear Brook Speech & Debate team clawed their way to yet greater victories this past weekend, November 2-3 at Pasadena Memorial High School. After many hours of intense competition the squad came home with the following awards: Alex Scheifler came away with the 1st place trophy in Championship Lincoln Douglas Debate which now qualifies him for the TFA State Meet next year.

Brandon Wardlaw also came away with 1st place in Foreign Extemporaneous Speaking, 3rd place in Senior Impromptu Speaking as well as a 3rd place speaking award in Championship Lincoln Douglas Debate.

Karl Schaefer and Lindsay Bernsen, who are also qualified for State achieved 3rd place in Championship Cross Examination Debate. Lindsay also walked away with a 3rd place speaking award in CX Debate.

Kelly Hairfield came home with a 3rd place trophy in Prose Interpretation, as did Ross Adams with his 3rd place trophy in Domestic Extemporaneous Speaking.

John Fossum was also a recipient of a 1st place speaking award in Championship Lincoln Douglas Debate.

Also receiving mention at Pasadena Memorial include Mohamed Al-Hendy, placing 6th in Foreign Extemporaneous Speaking, Brittny Johnson, placing 6th in Original Oratory and Sophia Anwar who placed 6th in Senior Impromptu Speaking.

With these recent victories Clear Brook now has qualified 6 students for the TFA State Meet to be held in March of next year.
