Dr. Poston focused on how radiation can be found everywhere...in our bodies, in food (such as Brazil nuts), in ceramic dishes (such as the old Fiestaware), etc. While radiation exposure can be bad, such as overexposure causing the demise or damage of good living cells, radiation can also be good such as killing aggressive cells as in treatments in cancer patients. Dr. Poston used a Geiger Counter to measure the level of radiation in different items that he brought along, as well as radiation found in the auditorium room. He also brought along some prizes such as balls and t-shirts. The prizes were given to the students who answered questions. |
