E-Commerce at Brook!

Clear Brook Webmastering students are busy creating e-commerce web sites. The students were asked to create a fictional product and build a company around it and a website to ‘sell’ the product. The students had to come up with original graphics, and a believable order form. This project gives the students the opportunity to experience all that is involved in creating an e-commerce site. The sites do not actually sell a product and will not be on the internet, but the experience is invaluable for the students, because it relates to actually designing a business site.

Dr. Poston is a professor in the Dwight Look College of Engineering's Department of Nuclear Engineering. He served as the interim head of the department from January to August 2007, and headed the department from 1988 to 1998. Before coming to Texas A&M in 1985, he was an associate professor at the Georgia Institute of Technology. He has also been a researcher for Oak Ridge National Laboratory in Oak Ridge, Tenn., and a physicist for Babcock and Wilcox Co. in Lynchburg, Va.

Poston holds a bachelor's degree in mathematics from Lynchburg College, and master's and Ph.D. degrees in nuclear engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Dr. Poston will be talking about radiation and radioactivity and how their use can make our lives better and safer.

He will also  discuss the great opportunities for engineers in Texas.
