The Clear Brook PTA and Communities In Schools will be hosting a Food Drive that will be held November 9th through December 11th to fill the Pantry at Interfaith Caring Ministries. Students may bring non-perishable food and/or toiletry items to their Advisory classes. A Pizza party hosted by the PTA will be given to the SLC Advisory class that collects the most items. Clear Brook PAL's will help in tallying the number of items donated and pick up the donations from advisory classes for delivery to Interfaith Caring Ministries. If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Shafer in the Counseling Center.
S tudents will be receiving their school portraits in their English classes this week. Retakes will be Tuesday, November 10th during English classes. In order to get retakes, you must bring your packet of pictures, the order form, or the blue pass that you receive from your English teacher on November 10th.
Clear Brook National Honor Society will be holding a shoe and clothing drive. Please bring gently used or new shoes and clothes to the collection box in room 252. The items will be donated to help with Typhoon relief in the Philippines.
Volleyball has advanced to the next round of playoffs. They will play at 6:30 tonight, at Clear Lake High School against LaPorte.
All Clear Brook High School students, teachers, and faculty members are invited to come out to the "1st Annual Wrestling Dodge Ball Tournament" this Saturday November, 7th at 10 AM. The cost for a team of 5 is $20.00, and you can sign up on the day of the tournament. Come on out and enjoy the concession stand and show off your dodge ball skills.
Powder Puff sign up for players, Cheerleaders, and Celebros begins Wednesday, November 11 at 6:30 am in the commons to reserve your shirt number. Last day to sign up is Tuesday, November 17. Cost is $25.
The yearbook is looking for pictures of people doing adventurous things like sky diving, rock climbing, or other extreme sports. If you want your picture featured in the yearbook, bring it to room 219 by Friday, November 13th.
There will be a boys' soccer meeting on Monday, Nov 9 at 2:40 pm in Room 205 for anyone who is interested in trying out for soccer this year. You need to be there to pick up the required paperwork & forms, and to get your name on the tryout list.
There will be a Student Council Meeting on Monday, November 9th at 2:45 in room 265.
TAKS Tutorials are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30 to 4:30 PM. Transportation is provided only to the students who attend TAKS tutorials through 4:30 PM. Tutorial bus passes will only be provided to TAKS tutorial teachers.
The Winter Semester of the Clear Stars Evening School begins on Dec 7th and wraps up March 4th, 2010. Any student who wants to catch up or get ahead in his or her studies, or who wants to prepare for the Exit level TAKS test, may register through the Counseling Center starting next week. The evening classes meet two nights each week from 6:00 until 8:45 P.M. Tuition is $150 for each class with a $25 rebate if the course i s successfully completed.
