 2004-2005

Welcome to an exciting year in music education at Falcon Pass Elementary!

In music class you will be learning the basics of singing, playing instruments, folk dance, reading music, writing music, and creative movement as well as music history!  You will also learn how to fully experience and appreciate the world’s great music.  These skills are part of a well-rounded education!

Grading is based on development of musical skills and conduct.  Participation plays an important part in the skills grade, but will not receive a separate grade.  Your child may receive a “D” meaning they are developing their skills and understanding of concepts.  There will be some children who will earn an “M” as their grade for mastering all concepts and skills.  The following expectations must be met by all students so that they can all learn to the best of their ability.

Behavior Expectations:

  1. Follow directions
  2. Keep hands, feet and objects to Yourself
  3. Respect school equipment and exhibit proper use
  4. Participate in class activities

 Consequences for Misbehavior:

  1. Verbal warning and/or a yellow warning ticket will be placed next to the child.  Touching or hiding the ticket will result in another ticket.
  2. If misbehavior continues, child will receive a red warning ticket and will be required to sit out of class activity for 5 – 10 minutes.  A red note will be sent home which parents will sign and return the next day.
  3. If child disturbs class while sitting out, they will be given written work that must be completed before they will be allowed to rejoin class.
  4. Severe misbehavior – student will be sent to Principal’s Office

We may occasionally contact a parent directly if a child consistently receives a yellow warning ticket.
