Students and Mrs. Haynes are ready for anything.

Dear Wedgewood Friends,

Welcome back to our returning family members and welcome to our new Wedgewood families. My goal is to work with staff and parents collaboratively so that we can provide our children a quality education in a positive, safe and secure environment.   Again, I’d like to welcome you to your school, Wedgewood Elementary.

Back to School Information
Welcome back parents and students!  As August 10 approaches, parents who are tired from their children’s hectic summer schedules may begin to long for the beginning of school. For their children it is often a very different story.

Some students are dreading the beginning of school. Perhaps they are beginning a new school, or perhaps they are heading to school for the very first time. As a parent you need to know that there are effective steps you can take to relieve your child’s fears and make the transition to the new school year a success. Read some helpful tips for success in the new year:   http://www.ccisd.net/bts/tips.html

Our students, schools and district benefit most when parents and community members become involved. Support your child’s education by reviewing homework, showing interest in what happens in class, ensuring your student is at school on time and communicating with teachers and district staff. You can find more information online at: http://www.ccisd.net/bts/

The first day of class is August 10.
The last day of class is May 23.

Ready for another day of school? The "Howler" had a great article suggesting ways to make mornings less maddening.
