It’s Rodeo Time!
These next few months all students will be visiting the Wild West and learning about Rodeo and Ranch life. Every other year each CCISD elementary school is asked to participate in the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Art Contest. This is our year and the student’s will be creating a variety of western type art that will range from realistic drawings of animals to abstract landscapes.
I welcome any parents or community members who may have some great experience with the Rodeo or western/ranch life to give me input or even volunteer time to help with this project. The kids always benefit from hearing real life stories or seeing real life objects from such events.
I would also love help with choosing the 20 pieces of artwork from our school which will be entered into the district art contest and show. The pieces will have to be chosen the week of Dec.10-14th. They will be hung at The Arts Alliance Center of Clear Lake (TAACCL) off of Nasa Rd. 1 on January 9th for the district show and judging. All 20 entries will receive a ribbon and some may move on to the regional contest and then the Rodeo itself.
