Counselor Connection

The Elementary Counselor’s role is seen as three-fold: Counselor, Coordinator, and Consultant.

1. The Counseling component involves counseling with individual children, developmental groups, problem-centered groups and classroom groups.

2. The Consulting component involves consultation with teachers, parents, specialists and administrators.

3. The Coordinating component involves coordinating with the Student Success Team, Special Service staff and Community Agencies.

Individual counseling started the first day of school. Adjustment issues during the first two weeks of school are very common, and my office was pretty busy.  Usually children just needed a quiet place to get their tears dried and talk about their feelings.

Referrals

Parents may initiate a referral to the Counselor by calling 281-284-4314. If you leave a message, I will return your call as soon as possible. If you feel that it is an emergency situation, contact the front office and they will locate me.

Children will be able to self-refer by filling out an “I Need to See the Counselor” form.
