The CLCE Library has  had exciting visits from authors in the past two years. 

Mike Thaler, author of the hilarious Black Lagoon series, visited with CLCE students in March, 2002.  He kept them laughing with his silly riddles and pictures.

Marianne Dyson, award-winning local author of Space Station Science: Life in Free Fall, spoke with the 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders in November, 2002.  She described life on the International Space Station, performed experiments, and discussed her new book, Home on the Moon.

The Pre-K, K, 1st and 2nd graders were treated to nursery rhymes and songs sung by Mother Goose in November, also.  How did she make her goose move?

In January, 2003, author, explorer and adventurer Peter Lourie kept CLCE students enthralled with his tales of jungle adventure and hunts for lost treasure.  Many copies of his books were sold, including Lost Treasure of the Inca and The Mystery of the Maya.

Mother Goose was so much fun that we've invited her back to share more of her rhymes with the Pre-K, K and 1st grade students in Fall of 2003.

Students in 2nd - 5th grade will be treated to a visit from Walter Wick, author of the incredibly popular I Spy series, in May of 2004. His autographed books will be available for purchase. Watch for more details!
