The JROTC program is a cooperative effort on the part of the Army and the host institution to provide secondary school students with the opportunities for total development. The flexibility of the program allows it to bear the scrutiny of professional education and meet the needs of the community.
Students enrolled in the JROTC earn one unit per years towards graduation requirements. The curriculum offers a total of 180 hours per year withing 130 hours being required course hours and 50 hours of state and JROTC electives.
Students enrolled in JROTC at Clear Creek High may choose from eight teams. Color Guard, Drill Team, P.T. Team, Rifle Team, Orienteering Team, Ranger Swim Team, Academics Team, and Sabre Guard. Most teams have won the State Championship at least once. Students may also participate in 25 activities including Military Ball, Formal Inspections, Summer Camp, and several competitions such as The Bluebonnet Meet, The Quintana Meet, and the Willowridge Meet.
Qualified Cadets may apply for an apointment to the US Military Academy or a 4, 3, and 2 year ROTC Scholarship which leads to a commission in The United States Army.
