Walking in the front doors of John F. Ward Elementary School, one is greeted in the Great Hall by dozens of colorful flags from all the nations represented by our students’ native countries. We are an Exemplary campus with a multicultural population. Our school opened in August 1990 and is named for Dr. John F. Ward who was CCISD Superintendent from 1977-1987.
Ward’s faculty and staff are dedicated and giving. Their efforts are reflected in the achievement of Ward students. Strong parental involvement has been a hallmark of our campus and helps make our school outstanding.
Ward Elementary is a place where each student and staff member can feel challenged and rewarded. Ward’s spirit is always evident but is especially visible every Friday by a sea of Ward Star shirts worn by the children and staff.
