Every effort is made to place judges in your choice of division and category.   During registration, you will be asked to select your preference by division and then category within that division.

Divisions Available to Judge for Are: ELEMENTARY and SECONDARY

Elementary
 

Every effort is made to place judges in your choice of division and category. During registration, you will be asked to select your preference by division and then category within that division.

    • Earth/Space Science
    • Consumer Science
    • Mathematics
 
Judges evaluate student projects only.   No students are present.   These projects are from students in grades 4 and 5.    Projects are expected to be investigative, not demonstrative, and to show knowledge of the scientific method.
 

Secondary
Individual -- *Judges evaluate as noted below. Projects are expected to be investigative, not demonstrative, and to show knowledge of the scientific method.
  • SIXTH: Judges evaluate projects only. No 6th grade students are present.
  • JUNIOR: Judges evaluate projects and interview from grades 7 and 8.
  • NINTH: Judges evaluate projects and interview from grade 9.
  • SENIOR: Judges evaluate projects and interview from grades 10, 11 & 12.

Team  -- Team projects are found in grades 6, junior (7th and 8th grades) and 9th grade.   Teams of two or three students work together to complete an investigation.   Each student is expected to be thoroughly knowledgeable about the project.   Junior and 9th grade team projects will involve student interviews.
