Students at P.H. Greene Elementary School were in for a big surprise at the school’s annual Supper with Santa. In addition to pancakes for dinner, 24 bicycles and family tickets to six Rockets’ games were given away at the event.
“Sewell Family Insurance and Farmers Insurance believe in giving something back to the communities that we serve,” said David Sewell, owner of Sewell Family Insurance. “This event allows us to put something back into our schools – one teacher and one student at a time.”
Families also had access to the Farmers Insurance M.I.L.K. (Managing Information on Lost Kids) Truck program, which is a digital child identification program aimed at aiding in the recovery of missing children. In the event of an emergency, the M.I.L.K. Digital ID can immediately be forwarded to local authorities and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
In addition to the new children’s bikes and ID kits, a specially designed Harley Davidson motorcycle created by the world-famous Orange County Choppers was on display at the event.
“What a great opportunity for parents,” said Greene Elementary School Principal Stephanie McBride. “This is what school is all about, creating life-long memories for students.”
