Brookwood Elementary School Diversity Carnival: Making A World Of Difference
Clear Creek ISD is proud of our wonderfully diverse community. Brookwood Elementary recently held a special event called The World of Difference Carnival to celebrate the many differences that make us great!
The event featured booths and festivities from countries around the world including Poland, Holland, China, Colombia, Canada, Italy, Egypt, and India. Visitors received a passport as they traveled through the different countries. The family event features activities for all age groups.
OUR BELIEF
Children who value and appreciate differences will make positive contributions to their world as adults. By learning more about one another we can instill mutual respect while celebrating our differences.
OUR PLEDGE: A Resolution of Respect
I pledge from this day forward to do my best to combat prejudice and stop those, who because of hate or ignorance, would hurt anyone or violate their civil rights.
I will try at all times to gain understanding of those I perceive as being different from myself.
By understanding our differences I can accept and value our uniqueness.
I believe that one person can make a difference and that we all must work together to make sure our world respects all people.
I know that respecting individual differences is important for everyone.
I commit myself to creating a community that is No Place For Hate.
