CCISD Seeks Your Help In Naming Three Schools
CCISD SEEKS YOUR HELP IN NAMING THREE SCHOOLS
League City, Texas- Have you ever wondered how schools are named? In the Clear Creek Independent School District it is a community effort. The District is asking the public for its help in naming three schools:
Elementary #25 located along Highway 3 near Highway 96 in League City
Intermediate School #9 which is currently the Clear Creek 9th Grade Center
Elementary #26 in Education Village located along Highway 96 near Highway 146 in League City.
The CCISD Board of Trustees will convene three separate committees to review nominations for each of the three new campuses. Naming guidelines are as follows:
Intermediate School: Geographic Areas
Elementary Schools: Distinguished, Historical Persons (local, state, or national heroes)
Recommendations for names, reasons supporting the suggestion, and biographical information for a person, should be mailed to the CCISD Office of Public Information, 2425 East Main Street, League City, Texas, 77573 no later than September 19, 2008. Nomination forms are located at www.ccisd.net and available at the CCISD Education Support Center at 2425 East Main Street.
Members of the public interested in serving on one of the three naming committees should submit an application, which is also located on the district website at www.ccisd.net, no later than September 12, 2008. For more information, contact the Office of Public Information at 281.284.0020.
