CCISD CONGRATULATES 2012 SO YOU THINK YOU CAN SING CHAMPIONS

League City – On Saturday, January 14, 2012, 17 elementary students, 9 intermediate students and 6 high school students competed in the 2012 So You Think You Can Sing contest. This is the second annual event hosted by the Clear Creek ISD Visual and Performing Arts Department.
The students competed in one of three divisions: elementary, intermediate or high school.
Visual and Performing Arts Director, Dean Muths, announced the winners to the delight of the crowd. In the Elementary Division, congratulations go to Ward Elementary’s Victoria Vourganas She sang the country classic I Wanna Be A Cowboy Sweetheart. Bethany Warner, a Space Center student won the Intermediate School Division with Adele’s Set Fire to the Rain. In the High School Division, Ruvinda Gunawardena wowed the crowd with Michael Buble’s Haven’t Met You Yet.
The contest was streamed live on the internet and the winners were chosen by the number of text votes received. So You Think You Can Sing was recorded. Visit UStream to watch the performances.
