CHECHS LAUNCHES COMMUNITY SERVICE LEARNING
League City – Students at Clear Horizons Early College High School (CHECHS) are learning how to give back to their community. The campus recently launched a wave of community service projects.
Seniors recently served others at the Wings Over Houston Special Show for the lifetime physically challenged. Ninety students and teachers worked tirelessly on Friday, October 22, 2010 as they helped host the largest field trip in the area for physically challenged students.
The freshmen class at CHECHS took their service learning on the road to the Houston Food Bank. They donned protective gear and bagged 30,000 pounds of dried beans for distribution to Houston families. This community service project is an ongoing one. Small groups of the freshmen class will continue to work at the food bank in the coming weeks.
