CLEAR CREEK ISD’S HIGH SCHOOLS ARE COLLEGE READY
League City -- The Clear Creek Independent School District is proud to announce three of its high schools have been awarded the 2009 College Readiness Award. The Texas ACT Council recognized Clear Brook, Clear Creek and Clear Lake High Schools for increasing the number of students taking the ACT Assessment over the past five years and for significantly increasing their level of achievement and college readiness.
“The Texas ACT Council wanted to recognize those Texas high Schools that have made significant strides in increasing the college readiness of their graduates as demonstrated by their ACT score increases,” said Karen L. Pennell, Assistant Vice President and ACT Southwest Regional Manager. “These results show your schools’ faculty and staff are providing the kind of education that makes a positive difference for all students in preparing them for college and the workforce.”
Less than 5% all high schools in Texas received this honor. The ACT Assessment is the college admissions test that is used and accepted by all colleges nationwide and throughout Texas. In 2009 an all-time high of nearly 160,000 Texas students took the ACT.
