The Clear Creek Independent School District Seeks External Review
League City, Texas - The Clear Creek Independent School District is committed to continuous improvement, not only for students but also as a district. It is with this in mind, Greg Smith, Superintendent of Schools, has recommended and the Board of Trustees approved what is known as a Curriculum Management Audit. “Whenever people hear the word audit, it conjures negative feelings, but in actuality this kind of audit is welcomed by high performing school districts like Clear Creek ISD,” said Smith. “The audit will focus on the school system and how we can improve our services to students and stakeholders.”
The audit will be conducted by the American Association of School Administrators. During the week of November 9th, a team of certified education auditors from Texas and across the nation will step inside every school in the district to observe classrooms, pour over thousands of curriculum documents, and interview personnel and community members. Five standards guide the audit process:
- Governance and Leadership
- Curriculum and Learning
- Equality, Equity, and Connectivity
- Feedback and Assessment
- Productivity and Resource Use
The audit team will identify areas of weakness based on those five guidelines and present the findings to the Superintendent. This process will likely last several months. For more information, please contact the Office of Public Information at 281-284-0020.
