League City, Texas- The Clear Creek Independent School District is proud to earn four awards by the National Public School Relations Association recognizing the district’s commitment to community involvement and information sharing. The Office of Public Information of Clear Creek ISD received the following national honors:
2009 NSPRA Golden Achievement Award: Restaurants for Reading
Restaurants for Reading is a program which encourages reading while raising proceeds for our school libraries. It was launched in the 2008-2009 school year with a waiting list of restaurants wanting to participate in the profit-sharing program.
2009 NSPRA Award of Merit: Superintendent’s Podcast (Hurricane Ike)
The Superintendent’s Podcast is a bi-weekly video address updating parents and community members on district news and information. The podcasts were critical to our success during the aftermath of hurricane Ike. Interested parties can register to receive the bi-weekly podcasts right to their iPod through the district website at www.ccisd.net
2009 NSPRA Award of Merit: Super Sci-Tech Saturday Inspirational Video
Clear Creek ISD’s Office of Public Information organizes a fun-filled, hands-on conference for intermediate school girls in five school districts. The conference is designed to encourage them to pursue careers and coursework in the areas of math, science, and technology. During the 2009 conference, a video profiling the successful career of a female NASA engineer and Texans Cheerleader set the positive tone for the day.
2009 NSPRA Award of Honorable Mention: Clear View: A Culture of Hope Video
Clear View Education Center is one of the most promising stories of 2009! The high school in Webster offers high school students an alternative to large, comprehensive high schools through one-on-one relationship building and small classroom sizes.
