CLEAR CREEK ISD PULLS PEANUT BUTTER PRODUCTS AS A PRECAUTION
League City – As a precaution the Clear Creek ISD Child Nutrition Department is pulling all peanut butter crackers out of school vending machines and has stopped the sale of Smucker’s Uncrustables peanut butter sandwiches. This is in response to a voluntary recall by some peanut butter manufacturers after The Centers for Disease Control determined a salmonella outbreak that began in Minnesota has made its way to Texas.
Clear Creek ISD received three cases of Austin Peanut Butter Crackers last week that are part of a voluntary recall. The crackers were never distributed or sold and have been secured. To date, no association has been found with common brand names of peanut butter sold in grocery stores and the salmonella outbreak.
