Damage caused by rising water at 2 campuses and falling water (caused by damaged roofs) at more than 40 campuses and facilities has been assessed and protective measures have been taken to remove contaminates (water, mold, debris, etc.) at a cost of more than $3.4 million.
Approximately 8,250 cubic yards of debris has been removed from over 40 campuses at a cost of more than $1.5 million.
Damaged kitchen equipment at one campus has been replaced and the kitchen has re-opened at a cost of more than $200,000.
Food and kitchen supplies damaged by water and the loss of power at district facilities have been replaced at a cost of more than $105,000.
Roof assessments have been completed at all district facilities and temporary repairs have been made at over 25 locations at a cost of more than $450,000.
HVAC repairs and replacements at more than 10 campuses have been completed at a cost of more than $307,250.

Carpet and Vinyl flooring is currently being installed at over 20 campuses at an estimated cost of $815,000.
Wood floors (gyms, dance floors, etc.) are currently being installed and repaired at more than 15 campuses at an estimated cost of $1,024,000.
Roof replacements at the first 7 campuses are under way and scheduled to be substantially complete by the first week of December (weather permitting) at a cost of $3.6 million.
Fencing projects at two district high school baseball fields are in progress at an estimated cost of $120,000.
Technology repairs and replacements (computers, printers, telephones, etc.) totaling more than $480,000 are under way and scheduled to be completed by January 2009.
Future needs
Roof replacement contracts at the remaining 7 campuses are scheduled to be awarded in December, with work beginning in late December, and estimated completion in April 2009. The estimated cost for these 7 campuses is more than 3 million.
Numerous other categories of damages totaling more than $3.2 million have been assessed and estimated. The bid and quote process is under way to obtain favorable pricing and comply with state purchasing laws.
