LYONDELL GRANTS FUEL MATH & SCIENCE EXPLORATION
League City --- Students in the Clear Creek Independent School District will soon have some new tools to use as they explore the fields of Science and Math. Lyondell Chemical Company has graciously given the District several grants totaling more than $12,000.
The largest grant was given through the Clear Creek Education Foundation. The $7500 will be used to buy science and math modules for the Seabrook Intermediate School Synergistic Career Exploration Lab.
Another grant will be used to purchase Great Exploration in Math & Science (GEMS) kits for ten elementary schools. Students at Armand Bayou, Bay, Brookwood, Clear Lake City, Ed White, Falcon Pass, North Pointe, Robinson, Ward and Whitcomb will receive an “Elephants and Their Young” kit and teacher guidebooks. The activities will generate an interest in nature while teaching math and science.
Lyondell also held a school supply drive to benefit Ed White Elementary School. It was a huge success. The donations added up to enough supplies to ensure that students in every grade will thrive.
CCISD greatly appreciates Lyondell’s continuing commitment to education. Their generous gifts will help give our students every possible opportunity to excel.
