CCISD AWARDED GRANT TO SUPPORT TEACHERS
Funds for Innovative Teacher Mentoring Program
League City, Texas- The Clear Creek Independent School District announces the extension of its popular teacher mentoring program to now include second-year educators. The Texas Education Agency awarded the District nearly $485,000 to enhance the current program where veteran teachers are paired with new hires for a year. The additional funds allow for mentors to continue with teachers through the second year and offer curriculum training and cognitive coaching.
The current mentoring program serves over 200 beginning teachers on an annual basis. The district provides mentoring support not only for beginning teachers, but also for teachers who are new to CCISD. CCISD believes the second-year mentoring program will improve retention among teachers.
