n Dr. Sandra Mossman was recently named Superintendent of the Year by Region IV Education Service Center. Region IV represents 54 school districts and 7 counties, and supports 1 million students.

n A Clear Lake High School team is the best in the world. The CLHS Earth Angels, representing TEAM USA, won first place in the Global Enterprise Challenge in Wales, England.

n The Rocket team at Seabrook Intermediate finished 18th in the National Rocket competition in Washington, D.C.

n Applications are now available for CCISD’s free and reduced-price meal program. To find out if your child/children qualify, call 281-284-0708.

n The CCISD Board of Trustees has approved a number of new positions and in-district transfers for the 2007-2008 school year. For a complete listing of administrators by campus, log on to www.ccisd.net .

n Sandy Johnson, president of Barrios Technology, was named the CCISD Board of Trustees Citizen of the Year. NASA and Lyondell Chemical Company were also honored as Business Partners of the Year.

n And the EMMY goes to… The CCISD Office of Public Information. The Lone Star EMMY Chapter of The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences awarded in the Advanced Media category for the stories Moving a City, In Time of Need, and America’s Heroes.

n Travel to the moon and beyond this summer by participating in STS 07 (Stretch, Think, and Score), a partnership program between NASA and CCISD.
